Getting a Kindle and subscribing to Kindle Unlimited really helped my love of books grow as I was able to find so many great books and smaller authors I never would’ve thought to find!

And the fact that all of these are under 300 pages makes it even easier to finish them over a weekend or even one sitting depending on how fast you read.
That alone helped me feel super accomplished and like I COULD finish a book, rather than feel like it would take forever to see the end.
All of these books I ended up getting a physical copy for because I loved them so much too.
So if you’re starting to get into reading or just want ideas for a quick read or pallet cleanser after a long series, these books are my absolute go-to!
Most are either part of a series as well, the first in a new series, or something you can pick up and keep reading without needing to finish all the books at once.
But without further ado, here are my favorite kindle unlimited books that I will keep recommending over and over to whoever will listen to me because the vibes are there for all, and the spice is THERE for some.
Enjoy!
This post is all about my favorite kindle unlimited books under 300 pages.
Hollow
I won’t lie, the author is my boyfriend’s sister and this is her first book debuting as an indy author.
And I loved it!

Knowing that she was using this book to cope with the loss of her grandmother and keep a young dream alive of being a writer, made this story even more heartwarming.
We’re introduced to the main characters who are very much in love, right before tragedy hits. It’s a fantasy werewolf inspired story about love, loss, healing and second-chance that I REALLY hoped would happen.
The vibes: heavy grief that can only come from losing a part of yourself when the world needs you to keep fighting and lead. There’s friendship and support that just seems like exactly what everyone wants in their life. And dealing with the pain and loss in a way you never imagined.
The first half of the book I devoured so fast! There was so much going on in a good way, questions I didn’t even know I had and then finding a resolution in the end.
But the second half of the book!? Dealing with wounds that never healed, connecting when all hope was lost and coming to terms with a secret choice that would change your lives made before you were born.
All in all, definitely worth checking out and seeing where she continues this series.
It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but more or an open door to more potential that you would love to see.
Highly recommend!
Rowan
This series will always hold a special place in my heart as it’s the first “big” series I was able to finish.
The first book is under 300 pages, and the rest don’t go above or far above 400.

I still think about this series whenever I want to pick up a book or start a new one. It had me at the first line and never let go. I honestly read the whole series over a weekend, only getting up to pee and eat.
A princess sneaking over to steal booze from the neighboring kingdoms who have been cut off for decades due to war, only to be captured and brought before everyone to decide her fate.
Also there’s a weird love triangle going on where you REALLY don’t know who you’re rooting for in all of this.
But I can’t get Rowan out of my head, in all her stubbornness, witt, strong will and daring personality, I would be so annoyed with her choices and then want to be like her in the next pages.
The personalities, banter and emotions that needed to be navigated with loss and love here too just found a special place in my heart.
And again, being the “longest” book/series I read up to getting my Kindle, I devoured every other book these authors wrote.
So if you enjoy Rowan’s story, you’ll love the rest of this world, as well as the other worlds they’re working on and have created too.

Ice Planet Barbarian
What? Blue aliens on another planet with a dying community finding stolen girls from earth crash-landed by other aliens end up coming together, staying and finding their own matches not what you expected for your next read?

Dude, me either! But here I am, 10 books deep and I love them ALL!
I will say, the first book is the heaviest as there is A LOT of trauma and trigger warning to address before the other ones get more mild in that sense.
But spice, they ALL have.
And the third one really just stuck with me for whatever reason that is. I think I just related to her a bit more, but all the girls have such different difficulties they’re trying to navigate in order to actually create a relationship with these alien men.
No one is perfect in these scenarios either, but they just feel like real human dynamics that different couples would need to address. And that’s why I enjoy them so much.
Outside of the spice scenes and the big blue alien men, this really is just a nice series to start up when you want to read, don’t know what to, can’t commit to a lot and want some spicy scenes.
Highly recommend!
The Never King
If the Ice Planet Barbarians are committed to creating a true and genuine relationship with their mates, the lost boys in the Never King are focused on consuming and controlling their Darling girl.

This is spicy, and controlling, and kinky, and a lot of traumas no one wants to talk about or fully address but will work on it anyways.
This too, the writing is so good at connecting you to the characters and wanting them to win and heal and get better. While also wondering how you’d be able to handle the situation.
This is a Peter Pan inspired book but NOT one to read with your kids. This is just for you, and maybe your partner.
But the overall story is such a cool and adult take on the Neverland world and all the people that are a part of it.
The lore of the Darling girls going mad, being kidnapped and taken on their 18th birthday, and what’s happened on Neverland to cause all of this.
These books are SUPER short, and again, happened over a weekend.
I’d be screaming and gasping and annoyed walking out of the bedroom to get a snack and my boyfriend would be like, “you finished another one!?”.
“Yes I’m annoyed, I CAN’T go to bed after that happened!”
So a weekend binge session of the Never King is highly recommended. And the author has some other series and books available as well to keep you interested.

Six Scroched Roses
This was a totally random quick read that I’m SO glad I found!

And the author has a super popular series that this book is basically a prequel novella for, which makes me want to read her world even more.
But a sad girl who is slowly dying, decides to take a chance and go see the “neighborhood” vampire. He’s more of a cautionary tale of the scary vampire who devours young women, but she’s already going to die so who cares.
She’s also super smart and wants to see if she can figure out why his blood doesn’t age him.
So for whatever reason, he says sure to this and they start to connect and talk more and WOW fall in love. But of course it’s the dark brooding vampire who kills people and the girl who’s fragile but fierce.
This was just a nice quick book that felt super dark and heavy and gothic but in a way that just brought you into the world, not left you feeling super emotional. If that makes sense.

That Time I Got Drunk And Saved A Demon
This book, just like with Rowan, will always hold a special place in my heart. It was actually the first book I ever read and finished in my late 20’s after a decade of never reading anything that wasn’t a self help book.
And if that’s you, check out Self Care Tips to Avoid Burnout
But this is definitely a romantic comedy set in a fantasy world with demons, monsters, humans and deities all trying to live together.
The main character DOES get drunk and save a demon somehow, then goes on an adventure with him to save their world.
It’s a nice slow burn with so much fun banter that you truly love both the main characters and side characters, and want everyone to live happily ever after.
Spoiler alert, they do! But of course, have to kill a few demons and have a few spicy scenes before they’re fully ready.
But overall, I loved this whole series and the world the author created. I laughed so much and had all the emotions for the whole book.
A fun cozy adventure with just enough at stake to keep you turning the pages a little quicker.
